🪵 85th & Rust
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Every item from 85th & Rust is handcrafted from reclaimed wood, which means no two pieces are ever exactly alike — and that’s the point!
Here’s what to expect (and love!) about your piece:
Unique. Each item varies in tone, texture, and weathering. They’re one-of-a-kinds — just like the spaces you’re decorating.
Perfectly Imperfect. You may see small cracks, chips, knots, nail holes, and other natural markings. These aren’t flaws — they’re character.
Sustainably Made, Naturally Beautiful. Each piece is created from wood that’s been reclaimed, not wasted — saved from landfills and given new life.
From History to Home. Reclaimed wood carries the marks of where it’s been. Now it’s part of your story.
Crafted, Not Manufactured. No factories here — just a one-woman workshop, thoughtful hands, and a whole lot of love.
Not Weatherproof! I seal painted pieces with an enamel protectant, but they’re still not suited for full exposure. Covered porches, behind storm doors, or inside your home is best.

Most of my wood is locally reclaimed in central Alabama— from old barns, homes, sheds, or wherever I can find a piece with good bones and a story to tell. Every board is cleaned, prepped, and shaped with care.
